About University

History shapes future leaders’ perspectives.

Founded in 2012, the University of Mediterranean Karpasia is situated in the vibrant capital city of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). In 2014, UMK expanded its footprint with the establishment of a second campus, aimed at elevating the quality of education and nurturing individuals who embody tolerance, confidence, and entrepreneurial spirit, all while possessing world-class professional knowledge, skills, and competencies.

A Commitment to Academic Excellence and Industry Collaboration

UMK places great emphasis on bridging the gap between academic research and real-world application by fostering strong university-industry partnerships. This approach ensures that education is not confined to theory but extends to practical experience. The university has forged agreements with international institutions, such as B.H.M.S. Business & Hotel Management School in Switzerland, Superior University, and College of Tourism & Hotel Management (COTHM), to align its standards with global universities and provide students with internationally recognized diplomas upon graduation.

Diverse Academic Offerings

With a dedicated faculty that places equal importance on theory and practice, UMK offers a wide range of programs, including 10 Associate Degree Programs in areas such as Civil Aviation, Business Administration, Culinary Arts, and American Tourism and Hospitality Management. The university also provides 10 Bachelor's Degree Programs across faculties such as Business, Civil Aviation, Tourism and Hospitality Management, and Law. Additionally, UMK offers 9 Master's Degree Programs through the Institute of Social Sciences and 3 Doctorate Programs, further contributing to the academic landscape of Northern Cyprus.
