EMU Beach Club is the private beach-and-pool complex operated by Eastern Mediterranean University for its campus community in Famagusta. It's part of the university's broader recreation offering — sandy beach, a large pool, a restaurant, and a regular calendar of student events through the year.
Location & access
The beach club sits on the Famagusta coastline within walking distance of EMU's main campus. The university often advertises it as around five minutes by car from the main campus gates. It's exclusive to EMU students, staff and their guests — access is via student or staff identification, not a public day-pass.
The beach and pool
The seafront is a stretch of the Famagusta coast with the standard set of beach amenities — loungers, umbrellas, swimming areas — reserved for the campus community. Behind it sits a large swimming pool, useful on days when the sea is choppy or the wind is up. Together they give EMU students the equivalent of a polished private beach club without the day-pass cost.
Restaurant and social calendar
A full-service restaurant operates inside the beach club, with food and drink options through the day. The club is used year-round for student events — pool parties, beach evenings, sports tournaments and informal gatherings. It's also one of the standard meet-up locations for new students settling into campus life and for student-society events.
Family facilities
The club includes facilities suitable for visiting families — useful when parents or relatives travel to Famagusta to visit a student. Students can typically bring guests under the club's rules.
Who it suits
EMU Beach Club is for the EMU campus community — current students, staff and their guests. It's one of the practical reasons EMU stands out among North Cyprus universities for the lifestyle side of student life: a beach club a short walk from class is uncommon globally, and the social calendar that runs at the property is part of campus culture.
