Camelot Beach Club sits in Alsancak-Karavas, roughly 15 kilometres west of central Kyrenia along the coast road. It's built into a small horseshoe-shaped bay — that natural shape, combined with breakwaters, keeps the water unusually calm and makes Camelot one of the better beaches in the area for visitors with younger children.
Location & access
The drive from central Kyrenia is about 20 minutes along the western coast road, passing through Karaoğlanoğlu and Alsancak. Visitors without a car can take the regional dolmuş (minibus) — look for the "Girne–Alsancak" or "Lapta" route boards on the windshield. Parking is available on site.
The beach
The bay has fine sand and a gentle entry into the water. A wooden deck-platform runs along the shoreline, useful for sunbathing without sand. Sun loungers, umbrellas and shaded cabins are spread across the sand and the deck. The breakwaters protecting the bay mean swimmers get calmer water than the open coast — a quiet alternative to the busier hotel beach clubs further east.
Food and drink
Camelot runs an on-site restaurant, a beach bar and a snack bar through the operating season. The restaurant menu typically includes seafood alongside the standard beach-club fare. Service is informal — beach food, drinks at the lounger, sit-down meals at the restaurant tables.
Water sports
Water sports are a key draw at Camelot in season. Typical offerings include windsurfing, water skiing, banana boat rides, jet ski and parasailing. Equipment rental is arranged on the beach itself; the calmer bay water makes the introductory windsurf and ski lessons more approachable than at the more exposed beach clubs.
Who it suits
Camelot is a strong pick for families with young children — the horseshoe bay, gentle entry and breakwater-calmed water are an easier swimming environment than most of the open Kyrenia coast. It also suits travellers staying along the western Kyrenia strip (Alsancak, Lapta) who want a beach day without driving back into town.
