Long Beach (Uzun Yol) is one of the most generous sandy stretches in North Cyprus — roughly three kilometres of soft golden sand running along the Iskele coast on the eastern side of the island. It's so identified with the area that locals often use "Long Beach" interchangeably with "Iskele" itself.
Location & access
The beach lies along the Iskele (Trikomo) coast east of Famagusta, roughly half an hour north of central Famagusta by car. The Iskele coastal strip stretches for around 25 kilometres in total, of which Long Beach itself accounts for about three. Access points are dotted along the coastal road, with parking available behind the beach at most resort and beach-club entrances.
The beach itself
The sand is fine and golden, the water shallow and clear, with a gentle slope from shore into the swimming depth — comfortable for children, beginner swimmers and casual paddlers. The width of the beach means even on busy summer weekends there's space to spread out away from the loungers and bars.
Facilities along the strip
Several beach clubs and resorts open directly onto Long Beach, each running its own loungers, bars, restaurants and water-sport rentals: The Arkın İskele, Long Beach Resort, Pera Mackenzie and others. A paved promenade runs along the back of the beach with bike paths, food stalls, cafés and casual restaurants — useful for visitors who want a walk after the beach rather than just driving away.
Public vs club access
Parts of Long Beach are pure public access — drop in, throw down a towel, swim. Other sections are managed by the resorts and beach clubs, with lounger fees or day passes for the chairs, shaded areas and water-sport rental. You can walk between the two on the sand itself; there's no fenced separation.
Who it suits
Long Beach is the default beach for visitors based in Iskele or visiting EMU in Famagusta — short drive, plenty of space, full amenities, family-friendly water. It's also a sensible base for a longer beach-focused stay in North Cyprus, with enough resorts along the strip to make a full week of varied beach days without driving far.
